Video Summary
The first mistake is that you sound too professional in your B2B emails. When you sound too professional then you create an awkward barrier between the other person. Now, of course, there should be some sort of professionalism and respect but on the other hand you should be looking to create a connection.
The second mistake is that you are only talking about yourself. When you are only talking about yourself in your B2B emails when you are trying to sell a product or service then it’s not going to end well for you. It is also very common where people explain their background and talk too much about their qualifications rather than what the other person wants.
The third mistake is that you send from an @gmail account instead of your @businessname. Now this is not a dealbreaker but having it does add credibility and trustworthy to your name. It is also seen when they have to reply to your email.
The fourth mistake is that people often forget that the other side is a person too. That other person also has desires, feelings, fears, hopes, aspirations, and all sorts of emotions. When people are opening emails they want to be entertained or seek value from it.
The fifth mistake is that people don’t research other businesses. When you don’t research them it looks like another copy/paste template that no one likes reading. Take the extra 5 minutes to look at your competitors and see any genuine interests and connections you can add to your email. Having some sort of personalization will make your emails more likely to be read.
